Who Is Jag Baichan?
Jag Baichan was an extraordinary man whose kindness, generosity, and unwavering positivity left a lasting imprint on everyone who knew him. He passed away on January 2, 2021, after a courageous battle with COVID, but his legacy continues to shine brightly throughout the Katy community he loved so deeply.
A proud Katy native, Jag attended West Memorial Elementary, West Memorial Junior High, and graduated from Katy High School. He was also a loyal patron of Times Square Entertainment from the day they opened, a place where so many memories were made.
Jag had a true heart of gold. He had a natural gift for making others laugh, lifting spirits, and finding the good in every situation. Selfless to his core, he would do anything for anyone. If Jag had only $10 to his name and someone needed $10, he would give it—without hesitation and without expecting anything in return.
His generosity extended far beyond words. Jag consistently gave back to the community through blood drives, fundraising for the YMCA Backpack & School Supply Drive, mentoring students through the KEYS Mentoring Program at Katy ISD, organizing efforts to provide bicycles for children at Christmas, and quietly helping friends, family, and neighbors in need. Much of what he did was done anonymously, simply because he believed in serving others.
Jag’s life was a testament to compassion, service, and love for community.
Through JagFest and our foundation’s efforts, we are committed to continuing his legacy—giving back, lifting others up, and making a meaningful difference in the lives of those around us.
